Monday Morning Blues

Nah, not really.  I actually like my job, it's just sometimes tough to get back into the groove of work after a weekend.  Non-work time today was spent working one some characters for this Saturday's Cypher System superheroics one shot, then creating Roll20 dice rolling macros for The Black Hack as I'd like to run a one shot of it on Roll20 in the near future.  Also received the GM screen and mini-adventure rewards from The Back Hack Kickstarter and purchased a PDF from a 3rd party with several additional character classes for the The Black Hack that looked interesting.

Final Fantasy AGE

Well, Saturday ended up being a lighter gaming day than planned.  Ended up only running the Fantasy AGE game and pushing the Cypher System game back to next Saturday. The Fantasy AGE game came near being a TPK, but a lucky roll by one of the players managed to save the day.  The morale of the session is that 3 1st level adventurers should think twice about taking on a giant spider when their healer is out of magic points.  Anyway, I suspect this will be the last Fantasy AGE game I run as while I like several of the games individual mechanics they just don't seem to gel together in a way that I like and also it looks like the game system is only going to get lackluster support from Green Ronin.

Superheros, Cyphers, and McEurope

I've been reading though the Cypher System Rulebook and the Bulletproof Blues 2nd Edition rulebook and decided that I really don't want run Bulletproof Blues after all, but a superhero games does sound fun, so after bouncing it off of the prospective players I'm changing Saturday evening's Roll20 game to be a Cypher System game taking place in the Bulletproof Blues/Kalos Comics universe.  I'm looking forward to GMing the Cypher System.

The other Roll20 game I'm running for Saturday afternoon will be the continue of a Fantasy AGE one shot, which I'm not really looking forward to, but several of the players did ask and I've already had to push it back a week.

I really want to like the Fantasy AGE system, the rulebook was certainly a good read, but it just feels kinda blah to me in actual play and I think D&D 5th Edition does a much better job of the traditional McEurope fantasy genre for a game with some crunch to it. I'm looking forward to giving The Black Hack a try in the not to distant future to see how it stacks up.

Let's try this again.

Blogging that is. I never seem to follow trough with them. But hey, it's my birthday and I feel like giving it another go. The intent behind this attempt is that it will be a blog about tabletop gaming, one of my favorite hobbies. I'm currently running games on Saturdays on Roll20 and having fun doing so. I also play the occasional game via Roll20 or face to face with a group from work on Fridays. This coming Saturday I'm going to be playing in a Dog Eat Dog game which I'm looking forward to as it sounds like an interesting system, then running the continuation of what was supposed to just be a Fantasy AGE one shot and finishing the day up running a one shot of Bulletproof Blues.
