Day 2 - Savage Worlds & Cypher System

A new day brings new things.

Received the PDF reward from the Codex Infernus: The Savage Guide to Hell Kickstarter today. A quick look though uncovered several typos, but this unfortunately seems more an more common with RPG products these days, however it's a nice looking book and whenever I decide to get back to running a Savage Worlds game will hopefully make use of it.

In other thoughts, I've been thinking about using the Cypher System to run a B/X D&D-like game using the Race as Class trope based around B2 The Keep on the Borderlands module, so the roles would be:
  • Cleric - Speaker flavored with magic
  • Fighter - Warrior
  • Magic-User - Adept
  • Thief - Explorer flavored with stealth
  • Dwarf - Warrior
  • Elf - Warrior flavored with magic
  • Halfling - Explorer flavored with stealth
As I want to capture some of the old school dungeoncrawl goodness with this game I'm also thinking of coming up with some basic movement rules, say character movement is equal their SPEED in 5ft squares.
